Since this blog post is about setting up the website for Pandora’s Chase, you may be reading this by the time I’ve conquered my problem but I’m writing it real time anyway as I vowed to share my journey with you.
Before I started building the site, I imagined a real simple couple pages starring a home page, a page about the book and maybe a page displaying a few healthy reviews. Upon starting that endeavor, I have conversed with several friends and found myself immersed in a few website building sites, I now have devoted myself to a blog and way over my head with how complicated designing a site can be.
Here’s my struggle. I have some really gifted friends in the website department that have faithfully guided me to a certain site. Don’t get me wrong, the site is great but it’s far over my head. It’s beautiful with all kinds of themes and rockstar attributes and plugins galore, but I’m just not so sure that’s all for me and what I want to do. I got wrapped up it trying to design a site and was ready to get code books and all for it.
And then it hit me.
I just want to be a novelist. I want to tell stories and god willing a really great one some day. So that’s what I’m going to focus on. I think I’ll get the site up and running as geeky as it will be, and trust me I’m a dork so it’s gonna wreak of it, and get back to getting Pandora’s Chase published and tell you guys all about it.
PS – I need to find a fist bump icon for the end of these.
